Winter Is In Full Swing
As I sit here typing it is currently -34C (-29F for all my readers in the USA). It has been this cold, or colder, for the last three days so riding has been only a dream within a dream!
2014 is quite possibly shaping up to be a fantastic year. I have signed up for the May 2014 Fast Track in Colorado. Travel dates, accommodation, travel buddies and much more are all arranged. I am excited to meet new people, see new places and have a new adventure! Can you tell the nerves haven't set in yet? Just kidding.
I am looking forward to continuing this new part of my journey and to see what God has in store for the next few years. Whether it be that which I have been dreaming about for the past eight years or something even better that He has not revealed to me yet! My future is in His hands.
This winter has been an amazing, despite the temperatures being wild and never constant. But even with all the snow, ice and extreme temperatures I have been able to get out, ride and continue to develop my horses, and myself.
One focus these past few months has been bareback riding. I have had a friend riding with me on my horses over the winter and so I have had the opportunity to develop my bareback riding. With great success! The pinnacle would be cantering Prince bareback through the snow out on the trail while ponying Ruffian.
Well, I hope you all had a great Christmas, New Years and are, where ever you are, staying warm!

Pleased But Not Satisfied
Just heard that I passed my Level 4 Freestyle. One more savvy to go which I am sure shall prove the hardest but most rewarding yet.

Florida 2013
Hello Dearest Readers,
I have been poorly lacking in updates, I know. Sorry. Prince and I have been enjoying the warm weather here in the Sunshine State! What a pleasure it has been to spend the last month and a half here. Playing and riding Prince every day. We have made much progress and are getting ready to submit our Level 4 Liberty with hopefully our Freestyle to soon follow in the next month or so. Exciting times!
There are so many learning opportunities here in Florida this time of year it is amazing! I attended the Dressage Summit, several days of three different Martin Black clinics, a part day at HITS (where I got a free IRH helmet), volunteering backstage at a Sylvia Zerbini show and so many other memorable things!
Time has gone very quickly but I am enjoying every minute, as can be expected.
Here is a video highlighting some of Prince's and my time here over the past weeks. The liberty footage is from Prince's and my trial liberty audition... I hope you enjoy :)

Keri-Lynn and Prince January Video
Nothing to special as we have been taking it easy since the snow has been challenging but with the recent warmer temperatures things have been melting, making it easier to play.

Looking forward
As Christmas and New Years are behind us now things are starting to get back into a slower pace in many areas. Work is slowing down for the winter, my two older siblings have left once again and plans continue to go well for my upcoming trip, about which you my dear readers may or may not be aware of at this point in time.
Prince and I heading to Florida this February for two and a half months. We will be staying with my Parelli instructor and I am looking forward to taking advantage of the warmer weather and nonexistence of snow.
Today was the final visit from the vet to do Prince's health exam. I am so pleased with Prince and how he has done through out this whole experience thus far and it will be interesting to see how he does with being in a trailer for so long. At least he will have a traveling buddy as we are going down with a friend and her horse.
I am not one for big new years resolutions and what not but with the beginning of the year at hand I picked two main goals for this year. They aren't really new as I have had them for the last while but it is a good time to refocus and be able to start a fresh.(1) Pass my Level 4. I have my Online already so that is out of the way but there are still three more savvies to complete and at the moment I am not sure exactly where I stand in the whole process. When I return home in April I am hoping to have a much clearer idea of what I will need to do to obtain this goal. If I need to change it I will do that but as the saying goes, "if you aim for nothing you will hit it" so I must aim for a target and then readjust if necessary.
(2) Bring Knightly up to and through Level four. This really isn't a goal with a deadline as it will be a process and take time but seeing as at this moment Knightly will be the horse that goes with me through Level five and beyond I really need to start focusing on his development much more than I have been this last while. So there you have it. My two goals for 2013 and a much required update. We have over two feet of snow here but are getting a bit of warm weather for the next few days of which I am hoping to take advantage and do much playing and riding.
My aim is to maintain this blog more often through out the course of my trip so hang in there with me and come along for the ride!
I hope you all have had a wonderful Christmas and New Years!
Feel free to leave a comment below and tell me how you are doing! I would love to hear from you! Plus you can come find me on Parelli Connect

July Update: Arena, round corral, and video.
Well, July is here and almost over. A lot has been happening. We put in my round corral but could not finish it because of a lack of boards...but it is still quite usable. So between working 40+ hours a week, being sick with a terrible cough, and trying to get horse time in, life has been interesting.
I am taking a few days off work (today and tomorrow at least) until I know for sure what I am sick with and if should be going to work in the first place (although I have been working through the sickness for the last three weeks.... but anyways) Tomorrow I go to the doctor and we shall see, haven't been there in a looooong time.
Today I had a lovely ride with Prince and Knightly. I haven't been playing or riding because the few days that I did I was so tired afterward that I barely made it through work. Today though since I am not working I was able to ride. That makes a very happy me :)
Here is a video from last week when I played in the round corral with each horse for the first time:
